the "Oldhamia" A report appeared in an English paper
published in Japan on the 3rd. instant to the effect that
she had been recaptured by a Japanese cruiser but as Baron
Komura's telegram of the 5th. made no reference to such
recapture the report must have been without foundation.

The "Dnieper" (formerly "St. Peters-
-burg") which, according to Mr. Ison, had on the 4th.
instant sufficient coal on board for nearly 20 days steam-
-ing at full speed is believed to have been sighted at
5 p.m. on the 7th., 220 miles North-West of Manila, by the
